On Saturday, September 12, I’ll be joining the Electric City Music Conference at the Ritz Theater in Scranton, Pennsylvania, for a live conversation about AI and human creativity.
The discussion is called “Let AI Do the Boring Stuff,” and I think the title captures the opportunity pretty well.
AI can make a lot of things easier.
It can improve workflows, increase efficiency, organize information, help develop ideas, speed up research, and make it easier to scale.
And when we use it well, that creates more room for people to focus on the things humans are uniquely good at.
Creating. Thinking. Making decisions. Developing ideas. Applying taste and judgment.
That’s the part of AI I’m most interested in.

Bill Corcoran Jr. joins the 2026 Electric City Music Conference for “Let AI Do the Boring Stuff,” a discussion about using AI to support creativity, save time, and simplify non-creative work.
A Human-First Approach to AI
My philosophy on AI is simple:
AI should support the content, not become the content.
I talked about this recently on the bcjr Podcast during an episode about the biggest content marketing mistakes I see businesses making.
One of the ideas I discussed was the difference between using AI to support your own thinking and using it as a substitute for your voice and ideas.
I use AI every day.
For me, its value comes from what it allows people to do better, faster, and with greater leverage.
It can improve workflows, increase efficiency, and make it easier to scale.
But the creativity, judgment, and original thinking still come from the person.
That’s what makes the work valuable in the first place.
Using AI to Create More Time for Creativity
This is where I think AI for creatives becomes especially interesting.
For a musician, AI could help with scheduling, research, planning, emails, organizing information, marketing ideas, administrative work, or any number of things happening behind the scenes.
Those things matter, but they aren’t necessarily why someone became a musician.
If technology can make some of that work easier, the result is more time and energy available for the music itself.
That same idea applies to artists, filmmakers, designers, entrepreneurs, marketers, and just about anyone doing creative or knowledge-based work.
The best use of AI isn’t necessarily doing the creative work for us.
It’s giving us more capacity to create.
Human Expertise Still Comes First
That philosophy also plays a major role in what I’m building at OnTheStacks.
Through our proprietary Podcast-Powered AI Visibility™ system, we work with business owners and marketing teams to improve how their business is discovered, understood, and recommended across AI platforms.
And the foundation of that system is still human expertise.
A recurring video podcast gives someone the opportunity to explain what they know, answer real questions, share experiences, develop ideas, and communicate in their own voice.
That original expertise can then become structured, searchable content that helps AI platforms better understand who that person or business is, what they know, and where their expertise may be relevant.
AI and technology help extend the value of the original thinking.
They don’t have to replace it.
How Can AI Create More Leverage for People?
That’s ultimately why I’m excited about AI.
I don’t look at it as a choice between technology and people. I look at it as an opportunity to give people more leverage.
Better tools can help someone organize their ideas more effectively. They can make repetitive work faster, help teams operate more efficiently, and give creators and business owners more time to focus on doing what they do best.
AI is a tool. It can make expertise easier to share, distribute, and build upon.
The technology becomes most valuable when there’s still a strong human being behind it. That’s the version of AI I’m interested in building around.
Let AI Do the Boring Stuff
I’ll be joining Electric City Music Conference founder Joe Caviston for an informal discussion followed by audience Q&A.

The Ritz Theater

Free and open to the public
I’m looking forward to talking with a room full of musicians and creatives about where AI can make their lives easier, help them work smarter, and ultimately create more time for the work they care about most.
Because for me, it always comes back to the same idea:
AI should support the content, not become the content.
More on AI, Content and Online Visibility
If you want to explore these ideas further, I’ve covered several related topics on the bcjr Podcast that connect AI, original content, human expertise, and online discoverability.
Top 5 Content Marketing Mistakes Keeping Your Business From Getting Found Online
Creating more content does not automatically make a business easier to find. The way that content is structured, positioned, distributed, and supported by original expertise matters just as much as the volume being published.
In this episode, I break down five common content marketing mistakes that can limit online discoverability, including using AI to replace your voice and original thinking instead of using it to support the ideas, experience, and expertise behind the content. It also connects directly to the philosophy behind this article: AI should support the content, not become the content.

What Is Podcast-Powered AI Visibility?
AI visibility starts with giving AI platforms enough useful, original, and structured information to understand who you are, what you know, and the topics your business has genuine expertise around.
In this episode, I explain how Podcast-Powered AI Visibility uses a recurring video podcast as the source for a much larger content engine. Original human expertise is captured through the podcast, then developed into structured, searchable content that can help strengthen how a business is understood, surfaced, and recommended across AI platforms.
The goal is not to replace the expert with AI. It is to use technology to extend the reach and value of the expertise that already exists.
